A Sweet Tildas to Share...

Hi Guys...well after a very stressy day yesterday (Ollie is definitely back to his naughty self...lol..) I had a nice quiet day in the craft room and have sweet Tildas to share...

 

Tilda is coloured with copics..the DP is BoBunny...I added a Craftworks sentiment, pearls and some of my handmade flowers..

Again Tilda is coloured with copics..the DP's are NitWits from LOTV I added a SU ribbon bow and Pearls.  The flowers are again made by me.

Oh Ollie...

Yes my fur baby gave me a big fright today...he had a funny turn at the dog groomers!!...she was just finishing him and he went all stiff in her arms so she put him down and he then ran around and around like he was chasing his tail and drooling very heavily.  He then stopped and had a long drink...while this was going on she called me to say he wasn't well so I raced around there luckily she is only around the corner...Phew!...when I got there he seem to be fine then I notice he wasn't walking well..his back legs were stiff and he was wobbling. 

 

I called my vet there and then and rushed Ollie to him.  The vet checked him over... heart..colour..temperature..all ok..he checked his legs and watched him walk around. The vet said that in cases of seizures the dogs recover so quickly that by the time they see them the dogs vital signs are back to normal so its hard to pin point the problem.  The vet said that should he have another while or after resting then we may have a problem or if he has more than one in a month so all we can do is to keep an eye on him. 

 

Anyway by the time I got him home he was back to his naughty self. He chased LilyPuss up the stairs in their usual dog and cat mode...he stops when she turns on him...lol...and he is now on the chair in the craft room watching the birds in the garden....I'm off to have a lie down..lol...I really thought the worse..I thought I had lost him...

Less is More.....

Hi...Happy Sunday to you all...there is a fab sketch over at Less is more this week....here's my take...

 

I used a Memory Box Die...kraft cardstock....a bit of seam binding and a scatter of pearls...Hope I got it right!!

At Last.....

...a card....

 

...yes at last ..Its been a struggle these last few weeks to get motivated about anything..as you saw I crocheted and I made some flowers just to 'do' something but I just couldn't be bothered to get colouring... even couldn't be bothered to buy any stash to see if that worked...now that was a worry...lol...

 

I don't really know why I felt so down...although I am always worried about my Mum being in the home..we have had so many issues with the home and when I come home from seeing her I always feel guilty about letting her down...before she was ill she would say..'whatever happens to me don't put me in a home'.  Oh the guilt. 

 

 I saw her last Tuesday, it was a lovely sunny day so my sister and I took her into the gardens and we sat there with her just chatting away..she doesn't always join in but we are used to that now...and then she just came out with 'you wont put me in a home will you'. Ha! my sister and I looked at each other not knowing what to say...I have always wondered where she thought she was...we have never asked her...anyway...I just said.'.no we wont do that mum..you can just stay here'...'oh yes'. she said 'I'm much better here'.  Alzheimer's is a very strange illness.

 

Also on Tuesday I had a job interview..it was the first one offered to me in nearly a year of looking for work.  I have been worried about all the changes the government has made with the Welfare benefit... they have so many 'rules' now about how you look for work..they insist now that you have to use their job website and if you don't you could have your benefit stopped...Well I did as I was told and although I know my way around a computer the website isn't that easy to use so I dread to think how other people get on who have no knowledge of one.  They also insist that you have to look for work 1.5 hr away from home so that would make a 3hr round trip everyday.  Where I live that would take me to London or down to Dover...its just impossible to look that far..well for me it is.  I have never worked in London, never wanted to... beside the cost of the fares would probably wipe out half your salary..its just insane...When I was last at the Job centre I voiced my opinion about this and I said that I couldn't be that far from Mum in case there was an emergency and I couldn't get there in time.  The advisor said that if I didn't agree I would loose my benefit and I had to see another 'higher' advisor next time I  was due to go again.  All this has been worrying me. Sleepless nights again.

 

I have applied for so many jobs and heard nothing back that when I got the call for the interview I had to ask them what company they were!!!..lol... anyway I had my interview which I thought went ok but I knew they probably had hundreds of applicants so I wasn't really that hopeful.  They said they did have others to see but would let me know this week.

 

Wednesday 4.30pm the phone rang.  I got the job!. I cried, yes I did a happy dance at the same time but I cried.  I have a proper job...proper salary... I start 7th May...and its only 1/2 hr away from home and half way to Mums home.  I feel that a great big weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

 

And my mojo has come back....Phew!!!

Hello....hope this finds you all enjoying your Saturday whatever you're up to...I've had a productive day in the craft room...and had a bit of a 'Tilda Fest'...she has been a bit neglected of late and as I received 3 new stamps this week I thought I'll show her some love...lol....so after yesterdays CAS LOTV card...here are some More is More Tilda cards....lol...

Too CAS for Lili's Little Fairies..?

Hi guys..happy Friday to you all from a wet and soggy Kent...we have had April Showers on and off all day..but I guess it could be worse...lol...anyway...I have made a little card for this weeks Lili's Little Faries Challenge - Clean and Simple...but I might have taken it a bit too CAS...

 

I don't know the name of this little cutie...I think he came in a set....he is coloured with copics and I stamped him straight on the white card which I then mounted with 3D pads onto the card blank...I thought about faux stitching all round but I just had a tiny doodle in the corners...

 

 

You know what?..I really like this look...might have a go with a sweet Tilda....

Another Less is More....

Hi....yes I've made another for Less is More challenge....

it came to me while having a lie in this morning...I wanted to do a dash of colour and then a black sentiment or silhouette image....so I got my distress inks out...but I couldn't get the kind of dash I wanted so I did the next best thing...I masked off a patch on white card...coloured it in with lemonade and shabby shutters...then used a SU sentiment...its a bit mushy for me but I like the fonts...lol...added a silhouette butterfly and finished with some twine...(.I like the texture of the twine with the plainness of the image) and tiny black pearls...

 

I better go and get dressed now...I'm going out to lunch...oooer I'm late!!!!

A Sweet Tilda to Share...

 

Just  a quick post today to share a Sweet Tilda....she is coloured with pencils... the name of the DP's escapes me at the moment...I used a lovely SU ribbon for the bow and die cut flowers.

Less is More....

Hello...hope you are enjoying your weekend...I managed to have a play in the craft room today and I made a card for this weeks Less is More challenge.  Its a colour theme this week - Lime and Black...here's my card.

 

The stamp I used is by Kanban...I stamped in black then overstamped two details with lime ink.  I mounted on Lime card with 3D pads and finished with a sequin or 3 for a bit of bling.

Meet Flo

Hi I don't have a card today....would you believe that I have still not recovered from this awful virus..its going into its 3rd week now...it must be this weather...we've had snow again today!!!

 

Anyway while I've been resting I've been crocheting and made this little cutie....I found the pattern on Etsy and tweaked it a bit.....

Flo is made from soft cotton yarn...she is 10" tall but isn't really suitable for small children due to small parts etc., but she would be very happy sitting on your shelf looking pretty....

A Little CAS....

Hi...I'm back from my chocolate munching with a card for this weeks Less is More Challenge - Scallops....here is my card which I hope qualifies...lol

 

I used a blank scallop card then punched a scalloped edge to another piece of card to which I added a scalloped edge in contrast DP.  I  punched scallop circles from Echo Park DP's and turned them into a lollipop flower.  Stamped a spiral sentiment which I thought gave it a more of a lolly look... Faux stitched the stem and added a black and white striped ribbon for the leaves.  I had to sit on my hands in case I over embellished so just punched a couple of dots from the same paper to add a little interest...

 

That's it for the day now...

A First for me....

Hello Lovelies...I hope you are enjoying the Easter weekend and are doing some lovely things regardless the weather...so far here in my part of Kent..we've had sunshine (yay!) and snow showers (boo!!) on and off all morning...and it's jolly cold out there...brrr....

Anyway...its been a while since I last posted I know...in that time I went to the NEC...got over my bad cold... had a birthday... and my body decided to give me another treat of a chest infection and hacking cough..ugh!!!...so I've not been feeling up to crafting much...but I have been hopping around your lovely blogs seeing what you've been up to...all totally inspiring..from CAS to Darling Tildas to a bit of vintage...I have been 'stalking' Catherine's blog as she certainly has a talent for it and as soon as I felt better I had a little nosey on Etsy for some Vintage digis..boy I was spoilt for choice...and had a go...here is my first ever Vintage card...

 

I distressed the edges of the DP's which are Maya Road...and inked them...I used die cut spiral roses which I distressed too...and ribbon roses...The buttons are truly vintage I found them in Mums needlework box which hasnt been touched for years...and I finished with lots of sparkle and pearls....I hope I got it right!!

 

And then... as luck would have it... I see that this weeks challenge at Allsorts is Vintage..how cool is that!!

 

As I said before while I was away from blogging I went to the NEC...spent too much money as you do...lol...and struggled to find homes in my already 'fit to bursting craft room'...I sat there thinking oh I wish I had a bigger room....then had one of those light bulbs moments and thought of the dining room...I don't use it..its a bigger room and has a patio door to the garden which would be lovely when we get a summer....lol....the furniture would fit with a squeeze into my old room with a view for it to be disposed of later...so...I moved...its wasn't easy...in fact it was jolly hard work...but here it is....the room still needs tweaking  and I trying to remember where I put things...buts is so much better...

A Day of CAS....

Hello...Happy Tuesday!!..How are you all?...I'm still not right..although my voice is slightly better...Ollie isn't looking at me as if I have swallowed one of his squeaky toys today...but no one can understand me on the phone...and I end up shouting...well as much as I can...and that makes it worse...lol....anyway my crafty day continued in the same vein as yesterday...lots of CAS....I warn you now... there are lots of pic's....lol...it all started with this...

 

after all these years of crafting I have finally got a pair of square nesting punches....I love this paper..very retro...I was quite pleased how this turned out so.....I did another...

the DP for this is gorgeous...DCWV sparkly stack pad...thought it would make a great anniversary card.....then I thought I had better stop doing squares as all my DP pads were in danger of missing little squares from the corners...lol...so moved on to this...

 

 

 

a strip of Washi Tape and a bit of Bling...simples......now the next card was inspired by the birds in my garden..I was watching the Blue Tits fluttering around in the garden checking out the nesting box...while I was having a cup of tea.  They wont use it...they always go next door...but I'm keeping my fingers crossed...lol...here's the card...

 

 

I used a set of  Craftwork Cards clear stamps for this...bought them ages ago and not inked until today...so naughty...I added some sequins as they seem to be in style at the moment.... next...

 

 

a bit of hot pink...although it doesn't look it in the pic...

the little pearls are the same colour as the DP

and the sentiment is stamped in navy blue ink to tie in the blue pearls on the simple punched flowers..oh well...and finally....

 

 

Navy is the new Black!!...lol...well it is for me...lol....I used a Papertrey Ink stamp for this and stamped it three times....added  three blue gems...and again the sentiment is stamped in navy too.

 

Well I hope you enjoyed my little CAS exhibition...lol...not sure what I'll make tomorrow...but I will keep going while Mr Mojo wants to play...lol

One for Two....

Hello lovelies..hope you are all fine and dandy this rainy old Monday...lol....I do wish the weather would warm up a bit...so fed up...its not helping my cold one bit!!..I've lost my voice today....unfortunately I don't sound like a sexy Lauren Bacall drawl..its more like a squeaky Orville!!!..lol....anyway....

I've had a bit of a CAS day today...and I made a card for both Addicted to CAS - Wings and Less is More - Frames...

Here's my card...

 

I used a lovely Clearly Besotted Butterfly stamp and Momento Night Sky ink...which makes a change from my usual black...at least I'm moving into colour...lol...I stamped the butterfly on the edge of the frame 3 times letting the ink fade and fade...I wanted to get the feel that the butterfly was flying away as the sentiment would suggest.....

Hi guys hope you're having a great weekend....My cold is still lingering...have a rotten cough now..its certainly taking its time to go..ugh!
